Dear Valued Members of the IJIS Institute Community:
As many of you know, the beginning of June marked the end of Ashwini Jarral's tenure as the IJIS Institute's Executive Director. His contributions during his 15-year history with the organization cannot be easily summarized, but "he left us far better than he found us". His impact to health and public safety nationally was immense, and he remained true to the goals and mission of the organization. Moreover, he left the Institute in its best financial standing over its 19-year history. Though he chose to pursue new challenges, he will no doubt continue to contribute to our nation's well-being and will always remain a vital member of the IJIS family. We wish him great health, great impact, and great fortune!
Moving forward, Maria Cardiellos will serve as the Acting Executive Director. She provides over thirty-five years of experience stemming from both public and private sectors, and has led information sharing initiatives on the local, state, and national levels. She and the IJIS Institute remain committed to serving the IJIS community of industry solutions providers, government leaders and representatives from nonprofit and academic organizations.
An example of continued value will be the delivery of our virtual Mid-Year Briefing and Membership Forum scheduled for August 5th and 6th.The virtual event will incorporate a series of interactive webinars centered around ensuring business continuity during crises like the pandemic or other life-changing events. Lessons learned, challenges met, best practices developed, technologies leveraged, and potential funding opportunities will be amongst the topics presented.
In light of the current crisis, these webinars will be free. We encourage the participation by all interested parties to better understand and collectively address issues that are facing our communities nationwide. Registration details will be coming soon!
We look forward to continuing our critical partnerships with you and your organizations moving forward, and we hope you and your families remain safe, healthy and in good spirits.
The IJIS Institute Team
